Another game idea, perhaps as project3, as I can use art and code from project2:
Armies battle against each other level by level. Each army is lead by one general. If the general dies the whole mission fails no matter what goals are set. Each general has several warpack leaders. A warpack consists of several troops which can be of differenttypes. A warpack leader can have mixed troops under his lead. A warpack leader can have other warpack leader under his command. The armies are build of warpack leade hierarchies. While the player is playing the warpacks try to kill independantly members of other armies. The general can hint his warpack leaders which opposing troops to attack next. Among warpack leaders there are some special charackters like the player with special attacks and special moves.
During a battle items can be collected to boost the warpack of a player or the player charackter himself. Items collectible are separated into the following categories: weapons, armours, boosters, arrows, pack boosters, immediates.
Only immediates will affect the current game session. All others will be saved for analysis and equipment between levels. The player gets collectibles by destoying item hiders (cans,chests,crates..) or by defeating special individuals or reaching a special kill rate.
The setting of the game is medieval fantasy with battles of elves with dwarfs or orcs or humans or any combination of them. The player chooses from alist of heroes (several for each race) each with special and different abilities, animations and stories. The equipable items collected from battle to battle are free to use for any hero, but the boosters are only applied to the currently playing hero charackter.
The battle moves and fighting abilities of the hero charackters are based on arcade games like jack & dexter, tekken, etc. The hero is viewed in third person all the time.
The game is a mixture of warcraft 3 (for theme and look), dynasty warrior (for gameplay and game mechanics) and jack & dexter (for fun factor).
Players can battle against each other or together via net or split screen. The player can battle in a campaign mode building up their heroes. Or an ongoing campaign to conquer the whole world. Between levels a colorfull map and an entertaining story (cutscenes or stills with audible story text) pull the player forward.

Just a dump for a Sc-Fi game idea:
If you are german and read Mark Brandis books in your youth you'll perhaps recognice the setting. Opener: A salvage ship on it's cruise through space, or a space patrol as you like it, discovers a large drifting object near a sun, it seems the object is a huge ship attracted by the gravity well of the sun. Approaching further to the ship the crew realizes it must be a long lost colonization ship with a huge bioshpere which started it's way to alpha centauri way back and was never heared of. The ship does not respond although it seems to be in quite good shape. Ship looks like a huge cigar with protective shields erect from one end of the hull (like a nearly pealed banana). During the approach to the only landing pad a rich biosphere with watersurfaces, vegetation and overgrown cities can be seen. And here the story begins..
